God's Powerful Peace

A couple days ago, I was really frustrated, at a lot of people. I either didn't agree with the choices they were making and the situations they found themselves in, or I was upset about something they did or said to me. It was rough, and the frustration wouldn't go away. There was only one solution to the problem.

Go to God.

I spent some time in prayer, just laying everything out, and the frustration went away. As its replacement, joy filled my heart, and I wanted nothing more than to sing praises to Him. So, I did just that. I went on a walk and sang my heart out with no shame, not caring where I was or who I was around. It wasn't about that. It was about God.

In response to this experience, I wrote a poem.

This life is so frustrating,

Almost too much to bear.

With the chaos and heartbreak,

I forget that You're there.

I can't seem to get control.

I don't know what to do.

There's a tap on my shoulder.

I turn my face to You.

Something amazing happens.

My trouble melts off me.

All the sudden, I'm stronger.

Does this mean that I'm free?

I feel the Son and His warmth.

I breathe in the fresh air,

And His joy consumes my heart -

The answer to my prayer.

My soul overflows with praise,

And it must be expressed.

Don't care what anyone thinks,

And that may seem reckless.

It's about no one but You.

Thanks for the peace You give.

With the chain of this life gone,

I can finally live.

You may be like me - you want to stay strong and deal with your problems on your own. God forbid you're vulnerable! But you can't live this life and deal with its problems on your own. It's too much burden to bear. Let God help you. Let God fill your heart with His peace. It's a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), TRUE peace. There's nothing like it. I encourage you to invest in it and show the world what they're missing out on!
